We are passionate about additive manufacturing. We know its amazing potential, and its not so amazing pitfalls. Our mission is to help unlock the potential of metal additive manufacturing and provide a comprehensive solution for quality assurance in laser powder bed fusion. The team combines expertise in additive manufacturing, aerospace engineering, physical metallurgy, computational materials science, industrial design, computer vision, machine learning and artificial intelligence, and software development. We are also supported by a versatile board, advisors and mentors from industry, with strong business acumen.

Our History

Rooted in research and driven by real production needs, Additive Assurance has grown from a university project into a venture-backed company advancing quality assurance for metal additive manufacturing.

  1. 2016 – 2019

    University Research Phase

    Origins within advanced academic programs investigating melt pool physics and real-time, data-driven in-situ monitoring for laser powder bed fusion.

  2. 2019

    Company Founded

    Formal incorporation to translate research breakthroughs into robust, production-ready assurance technology deployable in demanding manufacturing environments.

  3. 2021

    First Commercial Release

    The first commercial release of AMiRIS to a series production client.

  4. 2023

    AMiRIS-LF Released

    Expanding on our success with AMiRIS, we released our first large format (LF) unit.

  5. 2024

    First OEM Partnership

    The first partnership with an AM machine manufacturer. Working collaboratively to enable AMiRIS for all machines.

  6. 2025

    AMiRIS Inside™

    Expanding on our success with retrofit AMiRIS, we released our OEM integration kit to bring AMiRIS inside the machine.
